I was using my Impact Twin with a cheap $4 Firewire PCI card (Windows 7 Ultimate) with a VIA chipset and the Impact Twin was recognized. I had audio out but had problems recording so i decided to get a TI chipset.
I swapped it for a Texas Instrument chipset (TSB43AB23) and the card itself is recognized but not the Impact Twin : on one port the blue light is off and on the other port the blue light flashes, but in both cases i see nothing in Windows' device manager. No device found.
I am running Windows generic drivers for the Firewire card, on an Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB 3 motherboard, with 16 GB of RAM and an 8 core AMD Phenom II 1055T CPU running at normal speeds (2.8 Ghz or lower).
I have tried the firewire card with and without power from the computer's power supply (floppy connector) and i have tried on 2 different PCI slots.
Any idea what i could try ?
