I've been using the Konnekt 8 interface for about 5 years now, constantly having problems with the device randomly loosing connection with my computer and after a few seconds it connected itself again. I've also experienced total disconnects where I had to power off and power on the device multiple times to get it recognized by OS again.
Today it failed completely, after i unplugged the computer and cleaned it with an air compressor. Now its refusing to be recognized by the OS as a device no matter what i do. Changing FW cables and changing FW cards did not help.
I've read the Texas Instruments FW card is optimal for this, but the device was working great (except the random disconnects) when it was actually recognized by the OS.. I doubt the FW card being the wrong brand has anything to do with this.

I've unplugged the computer again and swapped the FW card to another socket and its getting recognized atleast, but I'm still getting stutters and a few seconds of disconnects.

Device now connects once out of every 10 tries/restarts, but gives no sound output.
